our sailboat
Our sailboat is named Mariah. She is a sloop-rigged, comfortable, modern, 40-foot sailing vessel, a French-built Beneteau Oceanis 400. Mariah’s interior is spacious and elegantly finished in dark hardwoods.
Accommodations consist of a large saloon (the living area), the galley (a kitchen area), two private cabins, and two heads (washrooms). The most comfortable, forward
double cabin, includes a sitting area, a spacious private washroom, and standing headroom. The aft guest cabin is a spacious, naturally well-lit with many portholes (windows), two-person
cabin. Guests in this cabin will use a shared head accessible from the saloon. All cabins have private lockers (closets) for storage of your items, reading lights, and are provided with
pillows and linen. The living area has a large round table, with plenty of sitting room on both sides and includes the navigation station.
On the outside, the decks and cockpit are designed
for comfort and efficient and safe sailing. The decks offer plenty of space and are great for lounging and enjoying the views. The cockpit, where the steering wheel or the ‘helm’ is, is very
spacious and its teak-lined seats can comfortably accommodate up to six people, even for a dinner with views around a fold-out table. Aft from the cockpit is a swimming platform perfect
for comfortably getting in and out of a zodiac, kayak, or for going swimming, and includes an outside shower for rinsing off. The cockpit is shaded and protected from the elements by a
foldable dodger and bimini. All the running rigging used to control the sails is led aft allowing one to control the sails from to the cockpit for safety and sailing convenience. Mariah is
equipped with all the required amenities and safety equipment to make your adventure safe and comfortable.
